Sensual Dominance. Berlin. Zürich. FMTY.

A woman in a black latex dress and thigh-high boots sits on a stool in a dimly lit room with red ambient light. A kneeling person in minimal clothing rests their head on her lap while she gently places a hand on their shoulder. BDSM furniture, including a St. Andrew’s cross, is visible in the background.

Heart of the Dominatrix documentary

Big screen debut with Inanna Justice

Whenever I meet Inanna Justice, I always think: how can someone be so f*cking cool?!

We first met at a BDSM festival in Paris and later reconnected during the creation of her book Heart of the Dominatrix, which showcases 21 dominatrices from around the world. In 2024, I attended her Femdom France event. So it feels especially meaningful to be featured in the documentary Heart of the Dominatrix, which explores Inanna’s work and her philosophy of kink.

The documentary follows her through travels, sessions, workshops, film festivals, and events like Femdom France, along with the quieter private moments in between. Across all of these settings, she speaks about BDSM with a clarity that is both grounded and generous.

I appear in chapter two, in a conversation we filmed while she was in Berlin for the SxTech Festival. I especially appreciated how the film gives brief but intimate glimpses into her sessions, highlighting her use of touch, a way of playing that resonates with me deeply. And there’s a great workshop segment where our mutual friend Madame Lule makes an appearance. The scenes in the workshop are very hot!

The film also shows the amount of work Inanna does beyond her role as a dominatrix. She’s a filmmaker and event producer, and the documentary offers a look into the realities of creating erotic and BDSM-related work, along with the navigation required to deal with the discrimination and logistical constraints that come with it.

A few scenes left particularly strong impressions on me. The tea service scene is aesthetic and captures the sensuality and vulnerability embedded in service. Another highlight is Midori’s definition of kink, which is beautifully articulated. And the final play party sequence, filled with strong women using men’s bodies for their pleasure, is my version of an ideal world. A kinky matriarchy.
